The Brief

For two consecutive years, AAF Orange County needed a show opener that could do more than welcome people to the ADDY Awards. The room would be filled with agencies, clients, creatives, account teams, sponsors, AAF members and the broader local advertising community, all gathered to celebrate the best work of the year.

The opener needed to give that room a jolt: something funny, specific and self-aware enough to feel made for the people in attendance. JUST CAUSE answered the call with two original musical videos for the 2015 and 2016 award shows, plus a behind-the-scenes companion piece released after the second video debuted.

Why it mattered

The video featured Orange County advertising professionals, agency leaders, creatives, account people, nominees and members of the local AAF community, turning the opener into both a musical satire and a shared celebration of the people in the room.
